That is not the end of the story, however: he also wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, worked extensively as a journalist and played an important role in Naval Intelligence.

2008 marked the 100th year after Ian Fleming's birth, and Ian Fleming Publications celebrated with the publication of a new James Bond book written by the acclaimed author Sebastian Faulks. Devil May Care was released to coincide with Ian Fleming's 100th birthday, on the 28th May 2008.
